Calipers all back together now, need some new banjos to finish off. Had to check some wiring tonight, thought I'd lost the supply to fuel pump but it was all good, as it gets 12v when you hit the start button and has a constant 12v to the relay when the ignition is on, so bit of a strange set-up but understand it now. Need to purchase a 12mm allen socket on Saturday, need it for the rear wheel spindle set-up, only got up to a 10mm myself as never needed a 12mm before. Bike will be started on Saturday too, as it's ready to go................ I think. I might have one you can have...not ever used it...let me check

Thanks for the offer bud, but I went out this morning and bought one. Fook me, I've been working today, I've been out there since 9am this morning and just packed up for the day as I'm off out for a ruby with the misses later. We've been together/arguing/laughing and much more for 25 years this month, so I'm on a promise. set up things to start the bike this morning but wasn't successful first off, I had a couple of gun shots but wouldn't fire up, so had to investigate. I started at the fuel pump again, I tested it all out again, it was working as and when needed, so I whipped the plugs out to see if I was getting a spark, NO SPARK! Then I started testing the cut-out circuits for the ignition, clutch switch, side stand switch, even the engine kill switch. Got some dodgy readings off the clutch switch, so stripped it, cleaned it then tried again. whoop whoop! it lives........... (But you'll have to wait for the video, not got enough time at the moment. (as above) Apart from the idle needing adjusting it ran as sweet as a nut, the engine is really sounding well, no noises, not even any tappet/shim noise, a right result! Next thing was to attack the linkage bearings and whip the swingarm out. All bearings replaced in the linkage and swing arm, the arm is now back in the bike, but the linkage isn't complete yet, as I've painted the dog bones as they were all shitty. Tomorrow, I can refit it all and refit the back wheel and finish the rear end off. Rear brake needs looking at in time, then that only then leaves the front end. Almost finished the old girl, must admit, It's been a lot of work which I suspected and I've been keen to get it all done quickly, I have things que-ing up to be done which are not bike related. So far, I've been lucky as everything has come loose without too much effort or trouble, this bike has been looked after and greased up very well, which has helped massively.

You don't hang around do ya :-) You gonna keep the zzr or sell it on? Ha ha. Definitely keep it bud, all in it will probably have cost me £800 (I gave me brov £400 for it ) including the fuel to go and get it, which is still a bargain, that's about half price of what it should be and will be again if not a tad more. I intend to use it which is why I'm doing all of it now, so I can hopefully have a fair few trouble free miles/years out of it. If I end up selling it on eventually, I should still get me money back.

Here's a small "out of focus" clip. Didn't realise the camera was out of focus, I must have moved it.
I just needed to feck about with the idle after this vid, but it's running really well so far.

I'm happy now , it will be a cracking bike just what you wanted, typical Kawasaki choke like my zxr , it's looking really clean

Kwaks traditionally have a ridiculous idle speed when using choke and those engines were never the most refined, especially compared to the likes of the blackbird as it's an old engine design but it sounded pretty good with that remus exhaust:-D

Splendid!
I think the ZRX motor is a slightly detuned version of the ZZR.
