We need a vid of it running mate , don't know why I always get excited about firing a bike up for the first time I'll try and sort something out, I might have to cheat and start it up first, because the oil in the bores will smoke like a c**t for a couple of minutes. Got a fair bit done today, carbs sorted and back on, most oil lines back on and all torqued up. Clutch cover back on, plugs back in caps on. I had one heart stopping moment today, I removed the top/head feed oil line to find what looked like part of the bottom crankcase (threaded boss where the line connects) was badly corroded away. I only later realised it's a fooking big ally spacer which was painted black which will now need replacing/ordered. Shit a brick first off, because it was one of those moments that fuck an entire rebuild/refurb to a massive grinding halt! Few more bits to order for the oil and fuel lines so won't be started until next weekend now.

I've got to get me a blast cabinet You'll like this one Paddy. C allipers were toast, pistons and seals unsuable. Shame but not unepected given the age and circumstances.
Stripped them and prepared them for "Blast off!" Going in....

Awaiting paint.

Brake kits turned up today, look very good quality and should be because they're not cheap replacements. Was having a look at what Paints I had for them, and tried this dark grey that I've used before and liked it. The original Kawasaki colour was grey with a hint of green in it, that's what it looked like at least. There is a lot of grey stuff on the bike so I had to go dark with it. It looks a bit lighter in the pic, but it is a nice dark grey metallic. "Ford Graphite Grey" to be precise.

Ford graphite grey ! excellent choice mate in fact so good I sprayed my whole bike in it Nice colour that, good choice. This is the collar I mentioned that I thought was part of the lower crankcase, it didn't have long t before it burst open and spewed oil. New on turned up today, so I could crack on and get all the hoses connected, and get oil back in the bike. Rad also back on and coolant in. I've changed the fuel lines to the fuel pump snd feed to the carbs along with a new fuel filter, so it could be started up now in reality once I stick the battery in it, but it have to wait for the weekend for that.

How long before you will be taking it out for a spin do you reckon Q Man? Realistically, I'm giving myself until the end of the month to complete it totally, mot and all. I have a fair bit going on so time is a bit scarce, but I'll start it up this weekend and let it get up to temp to see what happens with the fan etc. To be fair, some of what I have been doing is preventative as I look over it, so it is getting more done now than I'd planned, but it'l mean I won't have to touch it for ages. Alarm off. New fuel lines and filter just to be sure.

Calipers all back together now, need some new banjos to finish off. Had to check some wiring tonight, thought I'd lost the supply to fuel pump but it was all good, as it gets 12v when you hit the start button and has a constant 12v to the relay when the ignition is on, so bit of a strange set-up but understand it now. Need to purchase a 12mm allen socket on Saturday, need it for the rear wheel spindle set-up, only got up to a 10mm myself as never needed a 12mm before. Bike will be started on Saturday too, as it's ready to go................ I think.
