I shall be going to collect a bike over the Easter weekend from good old Surrey from one of my Brothers, he has decided to give it all up as he's heavily into his guitar playing. I received a text message offering me his bike for feck all, as he wants it gone out of the way. It has been sitting in a damp/wet garage for two years, not ridden and not started. The engine/bores may have suffered which would require an engine strip rebore/new liners and pistons amongst other things, but at this stage it really is a bit of an unkown but surely worth a punt for nowt! The bike was in pretty good shape prior to it being put away, so hopefully underneath it all there will be a good solid salvageable bike. It's a ZZR1100 only got 22k on the clock, on an R plate. I'll wait until I get it home in a couple of weeks time, have a good assessment of it and see what's what, before I decide what level of awesomeness it will be. Pics to follow and a progressive strip and rebuild to ensue.

He got some pics for me, can't get a full shot as his garage is a bit like everybody else's full f shite. ha ha. He said the tank looks worse than it is, it's mould and water stains from his cover, which he said has wiped off leaving no marks, and it's had half a tank of fuel in it, so hopefully ok on the inside too. I'm optimistic Ken, but my gsx lump suffered the same fate years ago. 1 liner had to be replaced, so cautiously optimistic. That looks like the same shade of "Midnight Purple" of my ZRX!

Not a problem, elbow grease, autoglym polish and bumper care for the black plastic bits. She'll be gleaming.

Yep, the plan is to get it home, start stripping it, checking everything as I go. Then I'll whip the plugs out and stick borescope down to see if the head needs to come off. Brakes will need a strip too, and I think the clutch is stuck so he tells me, but everything will get a check over just to do a thorough job from the off. If I can turn it around for less than £300 I'll be very happy, if it ends up needing the engine strip that'll double, but lets face it, it'll still be worth that sort of cost. It would probably still be worth £1600 when sorted. I'll set off early on Easter Saturday, spend a couple of hours there, then turn around and come back again. Start stripping Easter Sunday. (what else is there to do on Easter Sunday)

Great stuff mate a good trip out as well we haven't forgot about them yokes I will ask him today he's been flat out No rush Ken like I said, when he gets time I'm in no hurry at all mate. The XT was always going to be a long term thing, I mean over a year when I say long term. The ZZR will be sorted out first now anyway bud, so the XT is now off the bench making way for the Kawasaki to arrive. Time is in short supply for me, I have a ist of things to do that just keeps getting longer as folk ask me for every fucking thing! I must learn to be more "fuck off!" Ha ha He doesn't have to knock his bollocks out to get them done, as and when mate, as and when.
