got a few small jobs to do yet, but main one is to get the fuel filler fitted to the spare tank i have, going to be taking it to Hartlepool Radiators some time this week for a quote on price for fitting. have persuaded my Girlfreind that i need a Racefit Legend Ti system to finish the bike off but i will need to start saving up for that also going to get an oil catch tank next month, the sort that fits to the side of the oil cooler.

Just had a call from Hartlepool Radiators (guys doing my tank) asking me to pop over and confirm where filler is is going to sit, have now been and passed on said info. neck that the filler sits in/on has been done, just needs shaping to tank and fitting. looking good so far.

after being sat for most of the winter just getting worked on, I made the desision to get things ready for the nice weather of spring to arrive. so start up was first thing on the list. switching on the fuel caused the first problem! fuel tap was stiff, but once it became free it started to leak fuel in the "on" position, was ok when in the "off" position. looks like new gasket is needed, no biggy as i have a spare tap, will change it over tonight. bike started up first prod of the button, thats when the second "problem" showed its ugly head again, bike pushed a lot of smoke out of the exhaust, took around 3-4 mins to clear! It had started to do this before the winter lay up, I had put it down to worn Valve oil seals, but when i inspected the ports with the exhaust removed there was no evidence of burnt oil! (any ideas guys???) I am not too concerned about it at the moment, as i will be fitting the GSXR dot head once i have re conditioned it, see if it continues after that. but all seemed good after the smoke cleared, sat at tickover smoothly and reved cleanly, so not all bad

last night as i had to remove the tank, I fitted the last of the new s/steel Cam cover holder bolts. got the new breather fitment for the clutch cover from Torques UK also, so fitted some black braided hose to it and a K&N filter that i had sitting around from some time ago, sorted it for run and positioning. filter now sits between frame and cam cover under the tank to keep it as cop friendly as possible, i also fitted two small LED's for the reg plate, just need to wire them in. wheels will be going to garage round the corner for ballance in the near future. as i didnt get them done when i hed the tyres fitted! just wanted them on quick as possible, so i could get some new pics done with the white wheels. trying to do this at the same time as boxing my TV and speaker bar into my chimney breast and adding shelves to both sides, nearly sorted the tv, just the top ply's to fit round it, then on with the shelving, when i can be arsed or not working on bikes.

We were going to fit our tv on the chimney breast but then decided not to as we don't want to look up to the tv.

Oh, I see, no mantel piece. Yea above the fire is ok but if you had it above a mantel piece then it's too high imo

collected tank from Hartlepool Radiators, fairly decent job, but i had to do a little bit of adjusting to the front of the filler seat. they had managed to distort the seat a bit and the filler wouldn't sit flush because of it!! quick swing of my nylon mallet and a bit of filing and now sits much much better.

Wheels were fitted after return from ballance, bike checked over and started up, warm up done. as the weather was sooo good yesterday, and most of the salt had been washed away with last weeks rain, i took her out for her first run of the year. me and Avril took a ride round Richmond out to the dales, and back through Northallerton. was great to get back out again, and she ran without a fualt (bike that is! not Avril). Avril is pleased with the seat reshape, and said it was a vast improvement over the old shape. looking forward to better weather and longer rides to come.
