met Ash on the M62 and did the exchange, now the owner of another tank and body bits. cheers Ash, was good to have a chat and talk bikes/bollocks with you got back and had a play with how/where to fit the fuel filler. missed the posty whilst i was out, so will have to go collect the filler cap next week. off down to GIA in the morning to get the swing arm welded, Might ask Gav about the tank when i am there, see if i can get an idea of a price.

Drove down to Nottingham this morning and got the welding done to my swing arm by Gav at GIA Engineering. great service and a brilliant job done, very pleased with the result. little bit of cleaning up to do yet, then off to the powder coaters when i got home i went to the post office and picked up the new filler cap, l did a quick check fit, going to be removing the webs between the bolt holes as one of the first jobs, that will take a lot of the "bulk" away from it, then going to get some metal removed from the bottom face to reduce some of the weight and height, thinking of finishing it off with getting it anodized black.

it is going to be very near flush, might stand proud by about 1- 1.5cm at either side, but i dont think it will be out of proportion

I'm trying to picture that tank sprayed up with that filler. Chunky as fook ain't it. it will be around 10mm thinner than it is at the moment once i have removed metal from the bottom, and with the webs removed between the bolt holes it will look much more slim lined.

What are you putting in the other filler hole ? Blanking plate ? At the moment it has a plexi glass window fitted!! bit like a clutch window, but might fit a blanking plate if i dont get on with it
