Well if this is where you get either the 29 or 34mm measurement from then yes lol. I've never measured them and always just assumed seeing as it previously ran fine.

Are they VM29SS carbs bored from 29 to 33/34 mm ?
They will measure the same where you have measured, it's the other end you need to check (the bolt on plates on the air filter side)
If they have been bored, maybe they need a larger pilot jet or a raised fuel level to make up for less depression over the jet.
Interesting as I'm going to be using the same set up on mine.

Given the problem you've got, I'd try upping the fuel level just to see if it sorts it.

Floats all done, however I then realised I forgot to charge the battery last night, its on charge now but wether it'll get enough in it to try later I don't know. May have to wait till tomorrow now. I'm going to pray to a different god this time, the god named slim didn't answer my prayers  |
