Those pump nozzles are inside the carb yes? That carb cleaner says that it's suitable for visible parts of the carb...I read that to say, only what you can see on the outside so maybe that particular cleaner isn't suitable for delicate parts??

I know, i thought i would try and it fecked them completely. The stuff is like acid.
As for the knocking, I know it sounds louder inside etc but it never sounded like that before. It's very worrying. I have a video of it running properly previously and it sounds much better. The carbs just rattled but there was no knocking

I'd say get the idle working proper , get carbs balenced as they will sound noisy if they are out bro , you have plenty of time to keep cleaning they is only so much shit that can be pulled it can't keep coming unless you had a rusting tank which you haven't ,

The way I look at it , that if the valve timing is right the cam chain is at right tension, you've done all you can, those flatsides are known to be noisy paddy

You can hear the knock in the vid. You can hear it through the airbox which does say carbs but it sounds like its the engine when you stand next to it and that's why I get worried.

The way you've described the sound mate, it's exactly like mine and apart from needing a good balance, mine are fine. How long has it been since you've ridden it?

Paddy, give me a shout if you want me to come and balance them. If it running we can give it a go.

I've got a load of taps and a box of bolts if you want me to bring them round and we can have a go at tapping a thread back on the carb idle housing then fit a bolt?

Tapping to M6 and bluedogs making me a new adjuster, I've not got round to buying a kit yet though but yea I can just use a bolt in the meantime.
