So couple of days into using some military boots on the bike. Brand new so still breaking them in. Feel good so far. Gortex lined so should keep some of the weather at bay. Only thing is I have to be gentle on the back brake, as I keep stamping it!

Ah, I have three different types, light weight hot weather boot with gortex lining, black leather barrack boots, and brown Altberg combat leather boot with gortex. the altbergs are really comfy

Ace. I'd take my boot off but I am in work and don't want the rest of the office to pass out!

Never thought about using army boots...I'm still plodding on with sidi vertebrae gortex which have been brilliant for everything except walking in:-/

I almost always wear bike boots.
Not keen on having laces hooked on anything and slip on work boots easily come off in a crash.
But that's just me.

do you ride with your toes on the footrest ? Mornin'! Nope. I have it so the footrest sits against the heel of the boot, if that makes any sense? Like a crap clocking mechanism

Like a crap clocking mechanism Makes perfect sense mate sounds like you ride flatfooted like me, I only asked as stamping on the brake usually comes from having to pick the foot up rather than just pivot it, something I learnt while instructing Ah yeah. Well last couple of days have been a lot better. Just as the Sidis were alot lighter.

Sidi Adventure boots for me. Third winter wearing them in all weathers and still don't get wet or cold feet.

I have a pair of alpinestar and they are sooo comfy. I can easily walk around in them too. All the rest I tried were unbelievable uncomfortable, sidi, rst, dainese, etc. The rst looked awesome but the fit was awful.

I loved my old SMX 4. Got a good few years out of them. Mine are SMX 4 I can see me not liking any other boot after these. I think they look great too. When I started riding I always wanted a pair of alpinestar boots. Now I have boots and gloves. I tried a set of leathers aswell but I found the calfs to be a weird fit. I will get a pair if rst Kevlar jeans fir the spring for short journeys

I think they are on SMX 6 now!
