Dovisioso just can't catch a break this year, feel so bad for him and for Pedrosa, what rotten luck was that for both of them??? If Dovi didn't run wide Pedrosa would have missed him completely...
I hope Jack Miller can get some momentum going too, he'll be getting good finishes when he starts finishing!

I think the Lorenzo move is a one deal and expect to see it official in the next two or 3 races.
Suzuki pit boss / team manager actually said live on air he's expecting Maverick to go elsewhere next season.

I tried to put a bet on with a guy at work.
After various up's and downs on the money we ended up at....
I'd give him $25 every time Miller or Crutchlow got on a podium.
He gave me $2.50c every time each if they didn't.
He STILL wouldn't take the bet ! LOL

Crutchlow's main problem seems to be staying on the thing. Every time the commentary mentions him getting a move on you're waiting for a shot of him chewing gravel.

Yeah he and Jack Miller must have the same coach or something... they were team mates last year though...
I really want to see both of them start finishing, they're both good and can do so much better!

Great to see Suzuki back up there in the mix with the other manufacturers.
Crutchlow just doesn't have what it takes to be in MotoGP, he is yet another one in the line of ex-British champions failing on the world stage, he should have stayed with Supersport for a few more years, or gone into WSB for a few seasons, somehow he has lost something along the way.
Bradley Smith doesn't have enough aggression to be any further up the results than he is now, despite the guys talent I don't ever see him as a contender.
Lorenzo is sick of being in Rossi's shadow despite giving Yamaha titles, Rossi earns Yamaha far more than Lorenzo could ever offer, he just doesn't offer a good persona for the brand.
Dovi, is a very underated rider and a very unlucky one, he will also never be in contention for anything other than the odd podium handed to him by the fallers further up the field.
MotoGP rarely offers any "racing" anymore it simply offers a spectacle of Dorna proportions, the construction of the championship has become so politically engineered around the Manufacturers the circuits and the Tv rights that the actual sport has become nothing more than the hype prior to the actual race. The race rarely lives up to the hype, so much so that the riders themselves have become complacent as with anything other than a "Factory" bike you stand little chance of taking part in the series above anything more than to fill the grid and risk the odd crash and injury.
I still like to watch it, because I have a respect for the riders than still makes me nervous, because despite the pre-race hype they have immense talent to ride those things and be that immersed and focused towards an inch of their lives, whilst the rest of us just watch.

These days I find myself typically ignoring the hype and just tuning in for the race... it's definitely not the same as back in the Rossi/Biaggi/Gibernau days when I first started watching it. I missed the Doohan/Rainey/Lawson era unfortunately.
There are definitely some grid filler riders in there unfortunately as some teams still end up running guys who bring the sponsorship money rather than having the better rider who has no backing. Like all sport these days it's big business rather than sport.
I'm still definitely enjoying it though, just in a different way to how I used to.

The costs have sky rocketed for the teams and now getting money in from sponsorship and marketing is so vital that compromises have to be made such as rider choice. Do you go for a rider that brings in the money or a cheaper rider to save money for running costs ?
Crutchlow not up to it ? Who else would you put on it ? He's not exactly Mr PR so he's not there because he brings in pots of cash.
At MotoGP level, neither him or Bradley are "natural talent" riders (not that that has stopped some people being World champion), they have got to the level by grime determination and balls.
* All comments and opinions are made with the due respect that the skill level of ANY MotoGP rider is so far away from mere mortals that it's unreal.

I agree bud, their ability is nothing short of brilliance. Sadly for the british lads we just dont invest enough in our own home grown talent to produce anything outstanding on the world stage. I realise that sounds a bit insulting towards the likes of crutchlow and smith because they have acheived a massive amount which is now little fish big pond again, so shadowed by the aliens abilities in the current motogp grid. |
