So you buy it at £40k and either sit and look at it or spend more money replacing the dried out seals/brake lines etc (from sitting 30 years) before you ride it.
At which point it's "value" plummets.
I'd think far better to buy a decent used one, totally refurd' it and save the rest for fuel.

Fuck paying that it's worth about £25k and like bluedog says the minute you ride it its devalued its a 40k ornament these car shops are greedy sods pushing up prices of bikes that people want and pricing them out off the market for your average punter ;(

Full rebuild and refurb would be needed, you could possibly spend another 5k on doing that if you did it yourself. I'll pass.
