Would a single brick skin, batten and boarded with insulation be as effective as brick and block cavity insulated?? Looking at options that wont break the bank account and leave some to get the drive block paved.

You can buy some sheeting that is lined so it keeps heat in and stops the damp building up... or use brick then line it...

But is it just as good as a cavity wall?? As it looks like the single brick build is what we'll now be having, and were looking at ways to reduce cost without really compromising if possible.

Probably not quite as good but using Kingspan (or similar) and then plaster boarding will do a pretty good job.
I think you may want to use a permeable membrane as well.

Insulated board stuck to the brick is another good option I saw that mentioned aswell. Render is not an option, it has to be brick external matching the house.

Just whack a vapour barrier up then batten insulate and board it out, nice and toasty. I'm no expert so that may not be up to the regs.
