Got my eye on a complete 1997 1100f. So is the engine swap the same as a 1052? What is the performance difference between the two?

Yea it's 1127 & why...because I'm hoping to get the complete bike for peanuts. However if people start bidding at the last minute I wont bother. It ends Sunday. And the carbs are compatible with my airbox which is win win for me.

Id stick with what you got mate, its taken 2 years to get it back on the road. Failing that come round and get one of my spare 1127 frames and stick it in that, do a build while you have another bike on the road mate,

Also ,you would have to pick it up , that will be a couple hundred mile round trip. Save your money for when you want to upgrade your slabby. how about looking for a 1052 engine???

I don't plan on doing it yet as I want to enjoy the 750 motor running as it should. I want to give them cv's a try at some point aswell, a back to back comparison, other than that it's a future project so the 750 motor is staying put for now.

Hmmm, well a 1052 is my prefered choice. Is there still a fuel tap issue in a 750 frame?? There's one on ebay £500 dunno what they sell for but that ain't cheap. The f was just because it's all cheap. I also didn't realise some had 36's.

Paddy try and find a 1052 eng they are going up in price and harder too find you can have a ride on my 750 slabbie with a gsxf 750 eng and cv carb,s 17" wheel,s and radial brakes .........

Look at it this way, You could pay £500 for an unknown engine and any extra costs and headaches it brings. Or, Finish off the last niggles of a project you've nearly finished plus, have £500 you can use (if you need it) on extra trinkets, insurance, tax,PETROL !

BUT you know how it is, if it could be an 1100 then everyone WANTS it to be an 1100. LOL. I admit I'm always the unlucky one who it is mist likely to go tits up for. On a bright note my pads and nipples man left a card again so ill pick that lot up tomorrow. It's all just getting it ready for an mot from here. I guess once I'm out and about on it again ill stop having all these thoughts ha ha

That's it, I like the 2 stroke type power delivery of the 750 engine and want to know if the 1052 is the same and hows the delivery different to an 1127 or 1157?? Do they have that some sudden big kick around 6.5k and again at 9k?? Or are they more linear.

1100f, 1127cc, 136bhp torque beast Non straight cut gears and diafragma clutch. Goes in the slabby frame as is, only 1127 with the same oil cooler fittings as a slabby. All years 88-95 have 34 bst carbs tin tops as the slabby 1100 (750 some markets) different settings though. Is a very good cheaper choice, buy the bike if engine is good I say, you will have to use the cdi as well The 1052 is the closest to the 2 stroke feeling of all 1100/1200 oil coolers

Thanks, I wouldn't want to loose that characteristic slabby power delivery. When I rode a b12 I didn't open it right up so only felt the low down grunt.
