For those of you which know what this is, disregard - rofl. Everyone else thats unfamiliar with my work, this was my 1100 slabby which I have owned (my 7th) this one bought in 2004.
I loaned a perfectly good bike to my brother who road it into the ground in 3 months and chalked up 7k without checking oil.
In 2012 I made a conscious decision to pull it down part time and rebuild it, more so a dedication and promise to my late son to rebuild the bike he trained on for his big bore license.
How it looked in 2007 after resto work was done and a fresh engine through a dealer.
How it looked when I took it apart in 2012/13
Some of the head / block bolts they put in it at the dealer build. Different sizes and lengths.
Two better looking pistons
So we went back to basics with a full ground up resto (I guess) - pmsl.
Frame:
GSXR 1100 GU74B polished sporting a JMC Swingarm with 6" extension, GSXR Forks, fork extenders; hybrid Steering Stem, 17" rims and 2012 thou shock with modded shock link.
A few choice parts that I collected over the coming months ahead.
The head all back together with Yoshi goodness and a pair of top oilers.
Engine came together pretty smartly, although now it sports a black engine cover.
Arranged a GPS Speedo from the USA
And started putting it together, one day at a time
New battery box to mate with the Lithium I bought.
And after almost 3 years of screwing around, we got to this:
Hand made an XR75 single seat pod (1989 circa)
Painted some panels with a dedication to my son ben known affectionately round these parts as "D'artagnan"
And bear in mind some fueling issues which appear now to be resolved after months of plaguing me...............
We have an almost finished product.....................Only took 4.5 years, but whose counting
