The M109 isn't any better. Owners tried to call the the Haya-Cruiser, like f#ck they are !!! I eventually realised they are called 109 because its the cubic inch size (1800cc) for the US market! Handles like a container ship. Long, heavy, stupid size tyres, shaft drive, no cornering clearance, average (at best performance and brakes) not even comfortable over distance. . . . . . . . (I'm not the biggest fan of cruisers)

The only cruiser type bike I didn't mind the look of was the VX800.
Never ridden one though so it's probably horrible.

I never really got cruisers.
I'm not THAT narrow minded, I get Sportsbikes, tourers, dirtbikes, dual roll bikes, retro's,, streetfighters, nakeds, even scooters, but cruisers? Nope. Every one I've ever tried was flawed. Long wheelbase, heavy, gutless, crap brakes or suspension, stupid size tyres, lack of cornering. They all suffer from some combination.
The new V-Max came out with heaps of hype, in reality, they were a barge, and even at their home track they were picked off by several other models.
V-Max, V-Rod, M109, Ducati Dribble, Rocket-111, etc etc. It's all about look at me" rather than any ability. The motorcycle equivalent of a fake gold medallion and a stick on hairy chest!

I agree with what you say Tony, but at least the old V-max had fair straightline performance... I raced against a fair few when I was drag racing, and to be fair they can shuffle along a bit with a few tweeks !
But, I get what you're saying about the looks thing, it's all about glancing in the shop window in the high street
