I like that 1100 slabby. That's quite refreshing to see that red top Kat. Was that a standard colour or has he sprayed it that way??

Red doesn't look right for an early silver engined / wire wheel Kat, but there was something very similar, both in red and blue on the later black engined SD Kats I think ?

Maybe so but its the closest I've ever been to thinking 'yeh, that Kat looks alright ya know' lol, I really do not like Kats ha ha

To me the later 6 spoke GSXR style wheels, alloy pegs and black engine suit the Kat.
The original silver engine / wire wheels / big rubber foot pegs didn't sit with the Kats futuristic styling.
I'd love another Kat, but a late one not an early one.

I've never taken into account how little changes can make such a huge impact.

I find stock Kats quite comfortable to ride, some guys don't. I haven't ridden one all day yet though... that will come when mine's finished My favourite stock colour scheme is that later 84/85 red/silver with the black engine and those wheels. I like the snowflakes on my 450, just not on a Kat. There was also a two tone blue or red and silver in the 83 models but it was still primarily silver. I also like the Japanese market '87 SBE model they released, two tone red/silver but also with a red frame. The plan for mine though is gloss black with a red seat and red frame and although I have an earlier engine I'll be painting it black as well, I think it's a nicer look.
