Only known forks compress shit loads under braking , if you hit the front brake while going round a corner you will end up bolt upright, rear brake to scrub to the apex

Only known forks compress shit loads under braking , if you hit the front brake while going round a corner you will end up bolt upright, rear brake to scrub to the apex Not if you have valved forks and set up correctly bud, you should be able to can apply a huge amount of brake to the point the front tyre will give out way before the forks will try and stand up the bike. It's only the rider that chooses to stand the bike up in that situation so he can apply full brake pressure through the maximum effect on compression and tyre patch/friction/grip. You are right in principle though, mass produced factory kit will stand the bike up if you sneeze before touching the brake lever. But a correctly valved and set up pair of forks will amaze anybody, even the amount of braking force applied at lean is very scary, but that is where the skill is, of which I have very little. ha ha. |
