6m x 9m. About 20 foot x 30 foot. Normally classed as a "3 car"
I wanted much bigger but we live in the city and the council weren't impressed.
We plan on moving house when the kids finish Uni so then I get my BIG shed but untill then its where I hide and store my piles of crap.

One issue I did have was running a temporary power lead across the lawn. As always, I'm short of time and money, so had to wait awhile. When I did get time it was bloody hot (high 30's) with storms about and stupid high humidity. So like the numb-nut I am, I started digging! Got all the conduit and warning tape from work, and my time on a shovel cost $0 but it nearly killed me. Clothes soaked in sweat, sweat running down my glasses, having to sit down because I was getting light headed. I never said I was smart but its in. Nice and deep and legal / safe. I used 40mm conduit so I could put my temp lead through and have room for a sparky to do it properly later. Used nice sweeping bends on the end to make it easy.

What did make a huge difference was the "Whirley Bird" spinning vent on the roof.
It was a gift from my in-laws. Wasnt hard to fit, tin snips, pop-rivets and some silicon but it's very noticeable. Haven't seen a frost in the last 11 years but in Summer the temps can get up to 44 or 45 C around Brisbane ( 112 F ) The day I fitted it the temps dropped inside the shed.

Currently looking something like this.... Only plans for the future is to get a sparky in to wire power into the houses main board an fit 6 double flouro's and a heap of plug sockets. I did have big plans but now the sensible thing is to work on the house and move to somewhere with much more room so I can build something serious.

Got the doors open, 3 fans going, "whirly bird" vent on the roof is letting the heat rise. Shed is in the shade so the temp has only hit 30C / 86F so far this morning !

Something I did treat myself to when I first moved in was some decent shelves. Had various ones over the years, never been 100% happy, they were always the wrong size or not really solid enough. Bought 3 lots of these. industrial quality. Not your standard floppy knock togethers. www.machineryhouse.com.au/S014Very sturdy, each shelf takes 364kg. They had a mesh shelf but I cut sheets of ply to give each shelf a solid flat base.

OK so they weren't cheap, but they are certainly getting used and I'd bet they will be around after I'm gone! Buy quality, buy once. Not got any pics other than when I move in.

My wife is a bloody legend.
She paid for it and got it past for planning permission when the council knocked it back.
I wouldn't have half of what I've got without that woman. She's a star!

This is going back a few years. My last shed behind the house I bought when I arrived here. Basically a double garage, 6m x 7m. I quite like this one as it had a large concrete parking area Infront of it. If I'd stayed there I'd have put a covered carport in front.

For a short time before I bought the above place I rented. House had a double garage underneath it. I had less toys and thought it'd be OK. Driveway was waaaay to steep. Couldn't park a bike on it and my Ex crashed her SV twice getting in and out when I wasn't there. Shame, house was nice and the garage stayed cool as it was brick built into the hill not tin out in the sun.
