After Tony posting up about his fun with flat foot it got me thinking about the run in I've had and I was wondering what has been your luckiest/most satisfying dealing with the old bill?

I could do you a long list but I'll stick with just one for the moment.
Late evening on a summer Sunday, down the slip road onto the M1 on my B12 and already doing 3 figures. I then did the next 3 miles or so flat out with one hand hooked under the frame rail under the front of the tank ( the best way to hang onto a Bandit at those speeds) only rolling it off a couple of times when I caught something up and waiting while they moved over. Did it all by the book, indicating, glance over the shoulder before I overtook and not bullying anybody out the way.
On one overtake I noticed that a car a good distance back was running with me so I slowed to check them out, sure enough, an unmarked plod BMW pulls alongside and invites me for a chat.
While one plod is giving my bike a close inspection, the other is doing the talking. He mentioned the speed, saying they only caught up because I slowed while vehicles moved over, but also noted that my riding was not a question just the speed.
Plod one then comes back over and pronounces that my bike is very tidy and obviously well looked after, plod 2 then says,
"your bikes ok, your kit is ok, your riding and traffic manners was ok and you noticed us following you but I've got to do something about the speed".
"would 93mph and a fixed penalty be ok Sir ?"

I'm still getting used to this language you guys call english. A plod is bike mounted constable? Sheesh! I think we need a glossary.

Ha ha plod is the police we don't have many police on bikes any more it's not like the film Mary poppins they are only on bikes for a publicity stunt but usually the cops or plod are to fat to chase the smack heads (drug addicts) even on a bike .

I say no more...  |
