On the other side of the coin, I wish I could go to work at the moment. The last month and a half have included slipping over and landing with my full weight on my duff knee that I hurt years ago and having to take the rest of the week off. A couple of weeks later and my back is really hurting (probably due to me trying to compensate for the duff knee), rest of the week off. All was ok over the holidays but the simple task of kneeling down to light the fire sees my knee balloon again and my back join in the fun. A trip to the hospital walk in centre on Sat gets me a straight talking from a very good and understanding pyhsio' Doctor (the type that calls footballers, "Lawn Fairies") to stop being a bloke (twat), put my foot up and rest. The plan is to get an MRI scan and probably a drain and flush out followed by getting my pushy out and starting doing pilates again.
So I'm sat here, A half fixed car stuck in next door's garage A ton of job's on my frame I can't do. Not getting paid. Risking dropping out "the loop" because I only do agency work. BORED SHITLESS !!!!!!!!
Actually, the biggest concern is that I get my knee back to working properly because the footrest position on my project is pretty much fixed. I've got to able to ride it when it's done.
I'm not having a whinge and I know there are plenty of people with far bigger problems but, it would be nice to be able to go to work.

On the plus side, Waterstones have just rung to say my copy of Motocourse has arrived and friend has said she can pick it up while she's in town. Not quite so bored later.

Yep, uses you up,wears you out and spits you out at the end with whatever you've managed to scrape together while the dicks in the office ( who can't even do the job) attend 9 to 5 in their nice comfy office and think they're hard done by.
Me ? Bored and fed up ?
Whatever makes you think that ?

After reading about you guys, I don't have it so bad. My boss is a D%$# but he I only see him once a day or so, if I'm lucky. The stuff I get to machine is pretty simple stuff, mostly flat plate work, I like more complicated stuff. The pay isn't bad, though the benefits are a joke. I'm not even counting the years to retirement, 'cause I'll be working till I'm 80 . . . haven't really had a chance to save anything for retirement with 4 kids and my wife doesn't work. I'm in good health so I have lots of years to work on bikes and paint; that's the goal anyway.

I'll be working till I'm dead. I don't see a boss or nowt, just me and my van. I see students, students and the odd student. Tomorrow though I have to go to our depot in Swindon mid morning for customer service training, what a load of toss. There's role play and a test, the only role play I'm interested in is making the wife call me daddy pmsl ha ha.
