Cheers rusty now this bike is very close to my heart sounds gay but this bike got me through some very hard times I refused to sell even to buy food I had hit rock bottom lost my house repossessed and had to resort on going on the dole and for the first time in my life I had to do it , I managed to get housed luckily but it was next to 2 crack dens so I was fighting very often had to keep the srad indoors as I knocked out the bloke who decided to play motorbikes while it was parked outside the house and it fell over with him on it not happy I wasn't at all. But this bike was rode through blizzards , drifts sun rain with the missis on the Back so she could get to work and I could get to interviews it never missed a beat it's got scratches which I will never get rid of as each one is a memory, all through this my missis never once said sell it she loved it as well its part of the family , the only thing I will do is lacquer over the scratches to keep them there , when I got a job which was in Preston living in a caravan doing cable laying it got me there everyday until I was flying back home on the m6 near Leyland at a fair rate of knots journal number 4 on the crank gave up must have picked up something I was gutted , I have put another engine in but it's not as good so that is why the old trusty girl is having a 1000 k1 put in . I love it .

I'm assuming it's a fairly straightforward conversion putting the 1000 engine in the 750 frame is it?

Yes mate should be able to do it in a weekend depending on time and how many biscuits consumed

I used to hate srads and only end of last year i think on the temp Oss forum someone posted a pic of theirs and something about it just hit the spot and now after 20yrs of hate i like srads and i too would be very happy to own one. However we have to get the garage rebuilt then save for a trip to new York so by then they'll be on the rise. However i also like up to the K4 but that is my modern gixer cut off

Do you know what I did , couldn't stand the back end but now I love it ...it's different and it helped at the time I bought it for 500 quid that was 10 years ago as the bloke wanted it gone and it wouldn't start , I got it home and the choke cable was broken put another on and it fired straight up..

It's funny, that hump is one of the things I like the most about it...I've even considered getting an srad seat unit on my bike now lol
One of the most fun rides I've ever had was on an srad gsxr600, certainly one of the easiest to wheelie lol
Also set my fastest time round brands Hatch on a gsxr600 although it was a k1:-/
