I like to think there is such a thing and I'm about to see if honesty is indeed the best policy.
I do have the odd drop of red wine nowadays, not a ponce just like the odd glass in front of the box to chill out a couple of times a week.
Before Christmas I order another box of the stuff (12 bottles) which never turned up, I did the usual thing and contacted the supplier who them sent out a speedy replacement. The replacement did arrive in the nick of time so every body happy.
What got to me though was the delivery company, they had "claimed" it was signed for by "Smith" and did nothing more, totally washed their hands of it, which got my back up a bit because I had this feeling that the driver had done something dodgy here somewhere. There is nobody called smith in this village and no card was left at my house saying it had been left anywhere else, so for me something smells like "Bullshit". I mean "Smith" come on!!!
Anyway, I had my replacement box and thought not my problem anymore, so no charges to me, it's the suppliers problem.
As luck would have it, I had a knock at the door on Boxing Day, this woman had come home from work the other day and found a box of wine dumped on her rear doorstep, no card, no signature fuck all. She searched out my address and I went to collect it.
Apart from her honesty, I have now let the supplier know that I have the box "unopened" and informed them of what and how the delivery company had actually left the box, so we shall now see what happens next.
I love it when a lazy cunt gets caught out.
I don't need to tell you, that I thought about keeping it as nobody had signed for it anywhere, but my conscious got the better of me and I let them know that I have it, so we'll see what happens now.
I have given the woman a gift and thanked her for her honesty, it's nice to see there are still some folk around with scruples .
