Took the battery off mine today...unfortunately I found a bit of bubbling paint where it meets the seat...touched it and got a smell of petrol:-( Couldn't a leak anywhere after I cleaned the area...no idea where it's come from

Could be a pin hole of a perforation under the paint, just keep an eye on it. When you nads are on fire it's time to do something about it.
My Suzuki called a Yamaha, had a bit more done to the seat unit today, just need the final rub down of the gel coat I've laid on and we're onto the fittings.

My nads caught fire on my Elsie once. Thanks to some bright spark mentioning fag packet foil to bridge a blown fuse lol. A car driver eventually stopped to put it out with an extinguisher (Elsie not my nads)

My nads caught fire at work once aswell. I was in the service yard at festival place in Basingstoke when my nads felt very hot. I was sat in the cab if my lorry and smoke started coming up between my legs. I jumped out the cab with some seriously hot bollocks and pulled my trousers down quick.
It turned out id left an nimh battery and a little screw driver in my pocket from flying my heli the day before and it had shorted out.

My old triumph burst into fire while I was riding to work one day...turned out the mechanic that was working on it a few days before hand had broken something on the underside of the petrol tank and instead of replacing it, he 'fixed' it with superglue....suffice to say, it didn't hold for long:-/
Thankfully I was only a moment way from work when it caught do was able to get someone to put the fire out before I pushed it into the showroom and let it fall to the floor

Checked the pilot jets, adjusted the mixture screws, removed the starter motor and tested it, tested the original one then striped it to find a magnet seperated from the housing, video's some more carb tinkering for the video.

Apart from a 5 mile trip to get tyres Saturday morning, this weekend I did....... Nothing!
Weather was nice, I had nothing else to do, but I was exhausted! Mowed the lawn and went back to the TV. Sat around the house all weekend.
Been doing 10 or 11 hour days out in the sun for several weeks. Starting to feel my age. Not like me to miss a chance to ride.
REALLY looking forward to a few weeks off to recover. (and hopefully catch up on some miles)

Done more video segments, just boosting a battery to film putting the carbs back on lol. Adjusted mixture screws so the bitch starts first push. Just statically balanced them again (how do they go out?) as they were out a fair bit.
